“Aged wines are similar to elderly people who have not the power, but the wisdom. The wines have a certain elegance and vibrancy as well as an extraordinary personality - this is something very unique and special”, says Alois Lageder.
In the 80s Alois Lageder became aware that the high quality of a wine is reflected in its aging potential. Since the 1995 vintage, we have therefore selected and put aside a small collection of our masterpieces every year and can today draw on an exciting treasure, our estate reserve RARUM.
Through the aging process that each of the wines has experienced through extended maturation, we come closer to the secret of the interplay between place, climate, vinification and time that each wine hides within itself.
For the new RARUM edition, we have chosen our KRAFUSS Pinot Noir and made a selection of the vintages 2002, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2015.
For the RARUM edition 2022, we have chosen our MCM Merlot and made a selection of the vintages 2003, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2013.
For the RARUM Edition 2021 we have selected six aged vintages of the LÖWENGANG Cabernet: the vintages 1996, 1998, 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2010.
Every year, we select wines and vintages with the best characteristics in our internal tastings for the RARUM assortment. The RARUM collection 2020 featured our flagship wine COR Römigberg – six vintages dating back to 1996.
Each estate possesses its own individuality. In line with our philosophy, we perfect all aspects of wine production and create unique works of art.
