SURMONT Riesling

In the middle of the 19th century, Riesling was introduced to Alto Adige by Archduke John, who found ideal conditions for the grape variety around Magrè. Today, mainly as a result of climate change, it is cultivated at higher elevations, above 900 meters (2953 feet) above sea-level. With its extremely steep slope, a south-southeast exposure and the glacial deposit soils, the Rain vineyard in Penone offers the perfect terroir for Riesling.
